Green is the new gold at the NAHB Research Center... and Green Builders™ recently received the highly-regarded Gold Certification on four of our homes from the NAHB Research Center.

The NAHB Research Center, a subsidiary of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), is the sole national certification agency, recognized by NAHB's National Green Building Program (NAHBGreen). The Green Builders homes were certified based on scoring criteria in the NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines.  Divided into two parts, the Guidelines cover seven areas, or guiding principles: Lot Design; Resource Efficiency; Energy Efficiency; Water Efficiency, Indoor Environmental Quality; Homeowner Education; and Global Impact. The Guidelines offer three levels of certification - Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Through this national certification program, the NAHB Research Center provides objective third party assessment, verification, and certification services ensuring that homes carrying the NAHB Research Center Green Certified mark are green when delivered to the homebuyer. The NAHB Research Center maintains the highest standards of objectivity and independence. Homes that carry the Green Certified mark are inspected at least twice - once at rough and once when the home is completed - by accredited, third party verifiers to confirm that the builder's green claims are true. Every point claimed for National Green Certification is visually inspected and verified - the program does not allow any self certification or "greenwashing". Green Builders is committed to environmentally-responsible home building that aligns with the core principles of this national program.
