ABJ Going Green Award

Honored by the Austin Business Journal at the 2008 Going Green Award

Green Builders has been named the winner of the Austin Business Journal's Going Green Award in the Green Builders - Residential Category.  The award was presented at the Going Green Awards Banquet at the Hilton Hotel in January 2009.

The Austin Business Journal wanted to recognize those businesses and business leaders who are leading the effort to protect our environment. As stated in the ABJ "Our 2008 Going Green Awards publication honored those in Central Texas who make efforts to incorporate environmentally sustainable practices into their businesses and community work."

Competition for this award resulted in several finalists, but Green Builders stood out amongst the nominees for their continued innovation and advancement in the field of sustainable home building, a hot topic throughout the housing market. Winners were selected by Austin Business Journal editorial staff based on an organization's green program or achievement, how the program or achievement differs from others in its field and results of that initiative. Nominees, winners and finalists were recognized in the Going Green Awards supplement in the January 16-22, 2009, issue of the Austin Business Journal.

"We are honored to be selected as a winner for the Austin Business Journal Going Green awards program, particularly among several well known local businesses," said Clark Wilson, president and CEO, Green Builders, Inc. Green Builders engineers their homes green from the ground up to deliver energy efficiency in all areas of home maintenance and operation, without sacrificing elegance, space or comfort.  Careful planning during construction translates into up to 50 percent savings for homeowners on their monthly energy bills alone.

Green Builders' affordable, energy-efficient homes are priced from the $180,000s to $500,000s and are available in three communities throughout the Austin area.
